Greenwich Peninsula Wetland Beach Park

Project Description

The short film attempts to show the story behind the wetland leisure park, through the progressive assembly of all its parts. This abstracted formation takes the polluted Thames waters, breaking down its contents and re-constructing the packages to generate this vibrant wetland park that not only attempts to clean the passing water but creates an expanding amenity centre for the families of London to bathe and relax in the simmering, crystal clear waters.

The project titled: “Peninsula Leisure Wetland” takes the future of the Greenwich Peninsula as developed by Knight Dragon and converts the concrete forest of high rise apartment blocks and busy streets into a vibrant park-scape. Utilizing the abandoned Greenwich beach that surrounds the shores this prototype aims to take the polluted Thames river and naturally purify the waters into a thriving water park. The site encompasses white sandy beaches, swimming channels and an indoor pool complex, to create a vivacious park providing a holiday like experience in the centre of London. The site will grow and spread around the abandoned banks bringing back vital amenity space to residents, workers and visitors.
